How accurate is TrackSSH's location tracking?

TrackSSH provides high-accuracy location tracking with precision typically within 10-50 meters depending on several factors:

In optimal conditions, our system can achieve accuracy down to 5-10 meters. Each location update includes an accuracy indicator so you can see the precision level of each tracking point.

Can TrackSSH track a device if it's turned off?

Standard tracking functionality requires the device to be powered on to transmit location data. If a device is completely powered off, real-time tracking is not possible.

However, TrackSSH does offer these capabilities:

  • The last known location before the device was turned off is always saved
  • Our system will detect when the device comes back online and resume tracking
  • For premium subscribers, we offer low-power tracking which can work even when the device appears to be powered down (if the battery is still connected)

For critical tracking needs, we recommend keeping devices charged and powered on.

How frequently is location data updated?

TrackSSH offers flexible update frequencies based on your needs and subscription level:

  • Standard tracking: Updates every 15-30 minutes
  • Enhanced tracking: Updates every 5 minutes
  • Premium tracking: Updates as frequently as every 30 seconds

You can customize the tracking frequency in your device settings to balance between accuracy and battery consumption. For stationary devices, our smart tracking automatically reduces update frequency to conserve battery.

On-demand location requests are also available when you need an immediate update.

Which devices are compatible with TrackSSH?

TrackSSH is compatible with a wide range of mobile devices, including:

Any device with a valid IMEI number and the ability to run our tracking application can be registered with the system. For older devices, basic tracking functionality may be available, but with limited features.

To check if your specific device is compatible, enter its IMEI number during the registration process.

How do I find my device's IMEI number?

There are several ways to find your device's IMEI number:

For smartphones:

  • Dial *#06# on your phone's keypad
  • Check in Settings > About Phone > Status > IMEI Information
  • Look on the original packaging or receipt
  • Check the SIM tray or under the battery (on devices with removable batteries)

For iPhones:

  • Go to Settings > General > About
  • Check on the original packaging
  • Look in iTunes/Finder when the device is connected to a computer

The IMEI is typically a 15-digit number that uniquely identifies your mobile device.

How many devices can I track with one account?

The number of devices you can track depends on your subscription plan:

  • Basic Plan: Track up to 3 devices
  • Family Plan: Track up to 7 devices
  • Business Plan: Track up to 25 devices
  • Enterprise Plan: Custom device limits based on your needs

All devices can be managed from a single dashboard, making it easy to keep track of everything. You can add, remove, or switch devices at any time, providing flexibility as your needs change.

How does TrackSSH protect my data?

TrackSSH implements multiple layers of security to protect your data:

Who can see my device's location?

Only you and users you explicitly authorize can see your device's location. TrackSSH puts privacy control in your hands:

  • By default, only the account owner can access location data
  • You can share access with specific users through our sharing feature
  • Shared access can be revoked at any time
  • You can set time-limited access for temporary sharing

Our staff cannot view your location data except in extremely limited circumstances with your explicit permission (such as during technical support).

All access to your data is logged and can be reviewed in your account security settings.

Is it legal to track a device?

The legality of tracking depends on several factors:

  • Ownership: Generally, you can legally track devices you own
  • Consent: Tracking someone else's device typically requires their knowledge and consent

Account Questions

How do I create a TrackSSH account?

Creating a TrackSSH account is quick and easy:

  1. Go to the registration page
  2. Enter a username, valid email address, and create a secure password
  3. Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox
  4. Complete your profile setup
  5. Add your first device to start tracking

The entire process takes less than 5 minutes. Once registered, you can immediately start adding devices to your account.

How do I reset my password?

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by following these steps:

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click the "Forgot Password" link
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Check your email for a password reset link (check spam folder if not received)
  5. Follow the link to create a new secure password

The reset link is valid for 24 hours. If you don't reset your password within that timeframe, you'll need to request another reset link.

For security reasons, TrackSSH staff cannot access or provide your password. The reset process is the only way to regain access to your account.

How do I delete my account?

If you wish to delete your TrackSSH account, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Go to your Profile page
  3. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section
  4. Click "Delete Account"
  5. Follow the confirmation steps to permanently delete your account

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including device information and location history, will be permanently removed from our systems.

If you have an active subscription, make sure to cancel it before deleting your account to avoid further charges.

Billing Questions

What subscription plans are available?

TrackSSH offers several subscription options to meet different needs:

  • Basic Plan ($5.99/month): Track up to 3 devices with standard features
  • Family Plan ($9.99/month): Track up to 7 devices with enhanced features
  • Business Plan ($24.99/month): Track up to 25 devices with premium features and admin controls
  • Enterprise Plan: Custom solutions for large-scale tracking needs

All plans include:

  • Real-time tracking
  • Location history
  • Custom notifications
  • Web and mobile app access

Higher-tier plans include additional features like geofencing, extended location history, priority support, and enhanced tracking frequency.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?

You can change your subscription plan at any time through your account settings:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Go to Settings > Subscription
  3. Click "Change Plan"
  4. Select your desired plan and follow the instructions

When upgrading: The change takes effect immediately. You'll be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of your billing cycle.

When downgrading: The change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You'll continue to have access to your current plan's features until then.

If your new plan supports fewer devices than you currently have registered, you'll need to remove excess devices before the downgrade can be processed.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your TrackSSH subscription:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Go to Settings > Subscription
  3. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Follow the confirmation steps to complete the cancellation

After cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that date.

Your account will automatically be downgraded to our free tier, which allows basic tracking for one device with limited features. Any additional devices will be deactivated.

You can reactivate your subscription at any time by selecting a new plan in your account settings.
